Playground

Walkington Playground at the Playing Fields is paid for and maintained by the Playing Fields Association and is there to be enjoyed by all under 14s.

Well, after much hard work by our fundraising team of Claire Acum, Fiona Wells and Anita Day, the new Childrens Play Area was opened on Saturday 24th April by Harry Holdorf with the help of the Beverley Town Cryer.  It was very appropriate that Harry should cut the ribbon, as he has kept the Play Area immaculately tidy for the last 10 years.

As you can see from the pictures below (click on them for a larger image) the Grand Opening was a very well attended affair, and the new equipment got a big thumbs up from the excited youngsters as they tried it out for the first time.
